Update to Certificate IV Career Development course
Version 4.1 of the Certificate IV in Career Development has now been released. The current version was released in November 2012 and includes modifications to the unit of competency HLTWHS300A 'Contribute to Work Health and Safety Processes.' The unit specifies the workplace performance required by a worker to contribute to work health and safety processes where there is responsibility for one's own work outputs and possibly limited responsibility for the work output of others.
The changes to the unit reflect the harmonisation of work health and safety legislation across Australia. Previously each state and territory has had its own legislation in this area, but the national harmonisation agenda seeks to streamline this. Trainers will need to take into account that different states and territories are at different stages of implementing the national Work Health and Safety Act (2011).
The corresponding Learner Guide has been updated in line with the modified legislative environment. All other units of competency remain the same.
